It's been an exciting couple of weeks here at Palmer Designs HQ!
With that being said, I am super pleased to annouce an exciting collaboration with the fantastic Glen Moyer of Under the Tartan Sky in a brand new podcast episode: X Marks the Spot: Tartan Inspired Home Decor!
Learn all about how Palmer Designs started, my thoughts on what makes tartan so special and even some comments on my favourite tartan (Hint: there are just too many to choose from!)
Check out this wee clip below:

Being on this podcast was such a wonderful experience and I hope you enjoy listening. Glen Moyer, the founder of the podcast, has extensive experience in broadcasting and it was a real treat to be asked to feature as a guest on his show.
I first met Glen after creating a custom design for him to showcase his newly woven personal tartan, made at the fabulous Prickly Thistle on the Black Isle. The result was a unique piece that gives Glen the chance to proudly display his tartan along with his personal mantra, “Texan by birth, Scot by ancestry.” It was also the start of a wonderful friendship!
I do hope you can give the "X Marks the Spot" podcast episode a listen but don't forget to check out the other episodes, too! There are many other great pieces on the Under the Tartan Sky list, featuring amazing guests from across the country.
Here are just a few to whet your appetite:
- A look into GlenWyvis - Scotland's first community owned distillery
- A chat with Allison Higgins, brand ambassador from the The Scottish Gin Society
- Adventures with Alex Nail, an award winning landscape photographer capturing images of the highlans
- A showcase of Kimberlie Hamilton's new book, Rebel Cats
- And finally, a moving piece about keeping Scotland's identity with campaign founder Ruth Watson
